With fall sports seasons drawing to a close, boys and girls soccer and boys tennis senior night games have already been played, with volleyball and cross country contests coming in the next few weeks. Athletes in the graduating class of 2013 are recognized for their commitment and talent shown through their high school sports careers.
Girls soccer senior night was on October 17th against Elkhart Central’s JV. With lots of fans and school spirit the girls won 1-0 on a goal by senior Laken Richer. Senior goalkeeper Natalie Thorne had 5 saves out of 5 shots on goal. The two seniors’ leadership and skills will be missed a lot next year. There are 5 juniors, 1 sophomore, and 6 freshman also on the team.
Boys soccer senior night was Friday night of Alumni and Relief Sale weekend against Westview. With eleven seniors recognized, there was much student, parent, and community support. The guys pulled a 3-1 win with goals by Isaac Brenneman (‘15) and seniors Caleb Morris and Andrew Snyder. The entire Bethany community will really miss this graduating class of soccer players.
Boys tennis senior night was Monday the 17th against Fairfield. Coach Matt Miller recognized 5 senior guys with a lot of community support. The Bruins lost 2-3, but played a hard season. Parents and family had some great decorating ideas with life size pictures of the guys on the back fence.  This year’s graduating class will be greatly missed on the tennis courts. The team still has 4 juniors and 11 sophomores.
Upcoming cross country senior night is October 4th in a dual meet against Elkhart Christian and October 9 for volleyball versus Northwood.
