Friday night was SBA’s annual Teuqnab dance. This year the theme for the event was 80’s, from clothing to music to dance moves.
SBA members include presidents Ike Lehman (‘13) and Wade Troyer (‘13), vice-presidents Marie Bontrager (‘14) and Abe Thorne (‘14), representatives Jean Ahn (‘13), Lucas Morgan (‘13), Sadie Gustafson-Zook (‘13), Katie Hurst (‘14), Joseph Mumaw (‘14), Landon Weldy (‘15), and Kaylah Price (‘15).
Members of SBA came early to set up the cafeteria, moving chairs and tables out of the way and setting up speakers. People started arriving at 7:30 dressed in everything from oversized t-shirts and leggings to jean jackets and leg warmers to short shorts. Many of the girls went bright with their eyeshadow and lipstick and big with their hair. A few brave guys also attempted to style their hair.
With a variety of 80’s song choices from Safety Dance to Thriller the group had fun seeing who had the best 80’s dance moves. Some people were closer than others with their dancing, while others had no idea. There were about 30 people there. SBA provided drinks and snacks. Afterwards, SBA took down decorations and cleaned up the cafeteria.
Although there wasn’t a huge turnout the people there had a blast and will definitely be talking about the great time they had at Teuqnab. Next year, be looking for information about SBA’s Teuqnab.
