Hello, devoted readers of Sightline. I’m sure you saw the diary post that Caleb put on the Web last week. In response, I am doing the same to him. Without further ado, I (Jesse Bontreger) present Caleb’s Dairy.
Dear Ms. Watson,
This weekend was the busiest I’ve had in awhile. Jesse and I filmed for our movie Operation: Skyline most of the evening on Friday night.. We were accompanied by the fantastic Joshua Helmuth as we filmed a “gala” scene at the Old Bag Factory. We kinda had to sneak in. Most of our filming took place in a bathroom (yes, yes, weird) but we were worried that we would get kicked out. I mean, what would three teenagers in tuxedos be doing with a camera in the old bag factory?
But Lady Luck smiled kindly on us that night. Grace College was having their Junior-Senior Dance at the Old Bag Factory so we just played along. If I’ve learned one thing from this filming experience it is that if you act like you know what you are doing, people don’t ask questions. It did get a bit awkward when Jesse was filming me on the toilet and a couple of Grace guys walked in, but we were able to deal with it by giving a simple “howdy” and carrying on with our filming.
Saturday morning was an involved day of filming in downtown Goshen. This time, Landon Weldy and Josh Weaver accompanied Jesse and I as we filmed our “chase scene.” It was filled with cheesy cuts and aimless running around that just dies for some epic music to salvage it. Anyways, a good time was had by all.
Saturday evening was banquet, and I was lucky enough to escort the always beautiful Katie Hurst to banquet. She looked exquisite in her plum dress and multi-colored floral heels. After banquet was over, we went over to Wade Troyer’s lake house for a night of good food, sardines in the woods, and swimming in the lake at 3:30 am.
Sunday was rather bland. It consisted of sleeping, a bit of soccer, and calculus. Nothing much to report.
And now here I am, sitting at the Electric Brew at 9:47 on a Monday night. I’m trying to write my final presentation for Christian Faith Journey but after 1138 words all I can think of is you, my dearest Watson. Well, until next week.
In love,
~Caleb
