Rachel’s Diary: May 2, 2013

I have no idea how this happened, but my finger must have slipped and posted yesterday’s entry to personal diary on the Sightline website! Oh dear! I figure I’ll leave it up- after all, my personal ad, into which I poured my heart and soul, seemed to be a hit. Maybe all you loyal readers will like this, too! ~Rachel A.

My dearest Mr. Tennant,

This week has been such a whirlwind of excitement! Even before the most recent installment of Duck Dynasty and my push to bring back pigtails, it started with a couple of softball games. We won some, we lost some, but there’s nothing better than cheering my team on from the comfort of a wasp-infested dugout. We have another game this Friday, and I can’t wait!

I could wait, however, for my concert choir audition. I was ever so nervous, Mr. Tennant! Nathan was encouraging, as always, but I couldn’t help but shake a little bit as I stumbled through my sight-singing exercise. Gosh, I hope I get it. I hope I get it. HOW MANY PEOPLE DOES HE NEED?!?!

I’m sorry, Mr. Tennant, but you do know how much I love a good musical theatre joke! 😉 We have some good laughs, don’t we?

Speaking of my theatrical talents, the Speech awards dinner is tonight! I’m excited to get my ribbons and all, but it will be rather bittersweet. I’ll miss my senior friends so much! I might just retire to my bedroom and cry for days! But you’ll be there to comfort me, won’t you, Mr. Tennant?

Classes are going well, by the way. I took some more practice AP tests in Michael’s class. They were just as fun as a bucket of puppies! Obviously, my talents in the field of writing and literature know no bounds. You know very well, Mr. Tennant, how eloquent and beautiful my writing is. It’s a shame you’ll be the only one (besides me!) to ever read it…

My writing talents will be further stimulated by the new laptops we students are anticipating next year. With my own computer following me everywhere I go, I’ll have access to a word processor at all times. I’m a little concerned that we’ll all become a little too attached to our screens, though…

Oh, that was a good one, wasn’t it, Mr. Tennant? I do crack myself up sometimes!

Speaking of cracking up, I wonder what the seniors are doing for their prank this year. I hope it wasn’t anything like the year they unjammed all of our lockers. That was a pain! Last year’s “Senior Sk*nk Day” was quite hilarious… until I, convinced that the upperclassmen would protect me, came to school in torn jeans and a sleeveless shirt. I don’t know what logic came over me, Mr. Tennant. If I could go back in time in your TARDIS, I would tell myself not to ever trust a senior at the end of the year!

The seniors are nice most of the time, though. I know I’ll miss them when they go. The Concert Choir is planning to sing “Seasons of Love” at commencement. I’m absolutely sure I’ll be bawling my eyes out! Remind me to bring tissues, Mr. Tennant! lol!

Of course, my favorite event this week was the blood drive. I get free food and I’m allowed to miss class! What’s not to love? I am feeling a little woozy, though… And I see a bright lighhiojfzkggggggnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
