This year, Bethany welcomed eleven new freshman and three new sophomores into its ranks.
They came from a variety of places before joining Bethany, like Maggie Wang (‘17), who used to attend Fuzhou No.4 High School in China. Maggie says that she enjoys Bethany because she “can learn so many different things than in China.”
Freshmen Karl Bottorff (‘18) and Klaus Bottorff (‘18) attended Great Expectations School in Minnesota before they came to Bethany. Klaus said that he likes Bethany, and although he was worried about high school at first, most of his fears have disappeared since he started attending school here.
Some students have also joined Bethany from area schools. Hannah Kaethler (‘18), a former student at West Side, said that Bethany is a lot different from her old school because “it’s really small and everyone knows everyone.”
Sophomore Brandon Treece (‘17) attended Elkhart Christian Academy prior to coming to Bethany, and he plans on playing basketball this year. He says he likes Bethany because it is “a lot more relaxed and loving than other schools.”
Gavin Rusel (‘18), who was previously home schooled, says Bethany is very different for him, because this is his first time being in a structured school.
Likewise, Elaina Youngberg (‘18), was also home schooled before joining Bethany. She’s part of the cross country team, which she loves because she feels like her teammates are ready to help her at any time.
Stuart Krahn (‘18) attended Indiana Connections Academy, an online public school, before coming to Bethany. His favorite class is Geometry, and he stated that “even though it is a hard class, I enjoy a good challenge.”
Bethany is glad to welcome all of the new students, and hopefully they enjoy their next few years as part of its school family.
