Whether it is venturing to a foreign destination or just relaxing at a beach, everybody looks forward to something during their summer vacation. Bethany Christian is a school with a diverse faculty and student body, which means that there are many unique summer plans. However, not all summer plans need to be one-of-a-kind to be fun! Every faculty member and student was asked what they are looking forward to the most in their summer. Here are just some of the cool things, both unique and popular, Bethany faculty and students are doing for their vacation:
- Mennonite Youth Convention in Kansas City
- Working (Yes, Bethany has brainwashed students into thinking that working during summer is something to look forward to!)
- Not working (Fortunately, some students know to (1) avoid being brainwashed and (2) enjoy their summer)
- Going to Paraguay for the January term (their flight was delayed about 6 months)
- Road trips with friends
- Reading
- Soaking up the sun with cats
- Family bonding
- Sleeping
- Volleyball
- Going to the Appalachian mountains
- Family reunions, one in British Columbia and one in Florida
- Gardening
- Running a marathon
- Camping
- Cleaning Bethany
- Travelling to Senegal to prepare for an upcoming Goshen College SST
- Soccer
- Musky fishing with family in Michigan’s upper peninsula
- Swimming
- Painting
- Hibernating until the next school season
- Participating in a biking tour
- Playing tennis all day “errday”
Summer is a time for relaxing, trying new things, and possibly even making some money. A testament to this is Bethany’s faculty and student body. With summer rapidly approaching, teachers and students are anxious to see their summer plans fall into place. Have a great summer!
