The Bethany Christian Theatre Reunion show was an event directed by Talashia Keim Yoder to help raise money for new microphones for future productions. The cast of graduated and current Bethany students performed on Saturday, September 1st at 7:30 PM as well as 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 2nd. The actual performance was a mix of the many shows over the years. Most notable were scenes from Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat and the musical Working. Some of the shows were fast and energetic such as “I’m comin’ out of my shell” in Frog and Toad, performed by Sadie Gustafson-Zook. While others were slower and more intense like “Fathers and Sons” in Working, performed by Gavin Russel. Most of the scenes were performed by groups, but several soloists made appearances throughout the show as well. While one group was performing onstage the next group or soloist would prepare at the curtain for their turn. After every few performances, a graduate from Bethany would come out and give a speech that they had prepared for the audience. People talked about their personal experiences, the history of the theatre program, how Bethany helped shape their lives and thanked Talashia for her hard work and dedication over the years. Overall, the show turned out great and we are excited about the prospect of more events in the future.
