Christmas isn’t far away and with the jubilant mood in the air, the sad, lonesome feeling that comes after Christmas seems more inevitable than ever. So what can we do about these Christmas “blahs” that we feel after our (generally speaking) favorite holiday?
1. Go out with your friends
This one speaks for itself. Go out and be with your friends. You could go downtown or go ice skating, watch a movie or just hang out at someone’s house. Have fun!
2. Use your presents
You wanted presents for a reason! Fulfill that reason! Use your presents! Better yet, combine numbers 1 and 2. Get your friends together and have a good time! If you got a bike, go biking! If you got shoes, go running! If you got a yo-yo, go yo-yoing!
3. Spend any extra money you have
If you have extra money after purchasing or receiving gifts then think of a way to spend it on something that you really want. Did you want a new phone but couldn’t get one for Christmas? Save your Christmas money for it! Alternatively, you could look into putting any extra money in a savings account for college (just a thought).
4. Take down your Christmas decorations
If you keep your Christmas decorations up for longer than a couple weeks, you might start feeling unhappy or start reminiscing about the good times that you had during Christmas. The best way to get over this is to take down your decorations and save them for next year!
5. Look forward to the next holiday
Christmas is just one major holiday during the year. Look forward to the New Year or even Valentines day! Don’t get caught up in one event, even if it is Christmas!
Whatever you plan to do, have fun!
