Christmas in Christian and unchristian nations

Christmas is the one of the most important holidays for Christians. But in most Asian countries, we don’t know very much about Christmas, or at least we don’t have a lot of detail for it. So today I am going to talk about the differences of Christmas between Christian nations and non-Christian nations.

When I had my first Christmas holiday, it surprised me. Actually, I experienced this three weeks ago, when my host family took us to get a Christmas tree and put decoration on it. Also, each decoration has its own story, like a Santa made when my host father was young. But in China, my father doesn’t even know Christmas, since the Internet and globalism have become popular only recently, Our younger people know more stuff about other countries including Christmas.

I think that every tradition will change to the culture when it is practiced in other nations. Like for Christmas, we have our own “tradition” in China. On Christmas Eve. we like to give apples to people. This is because we translate Christmas Eve to “peace night” in Chinese and apple is pronounced the same as “peace”.
