Prom is coming up! This year’s prom will be at Coppes Commons in Nappanee. The theme is A Night in Paris. Students have arranged dates or groups of friends and found their dresses or suits (if you haven’t, there’s still some time for last minute shopping!). Seniors are especially excited since they got to sign up for free. Most people are very excited about prom: Alistair Tollar (‘19) says he’s excited to dance with friends like he did last year. Peace Muhagachi (‘20) drops hints about her prom dress, but will only say that it’s “green and velvet.” Carissa Mast (‘19), when asked if she’s excited for prom, says that she doesn’t want any prom drama, or “prama,” but is still excited to go. She wouldn’t say anything about her dress, because her date was sitting nearby and she wanted it to be a surprise for him.
People’s memories of last year’s prom are likely that the venue was cute… and very cold. Prom was held in a literal barn last year. It was straight out of Pinterest: rugged wood, adorable gardens- and sadly no insulation. Prom was fun, but anyone in a dress was shivering the whole evening. Here’s hoping this year’s prom is fun and warm too.
