It is time for Summer break, most of the students are already talking about their Summer plans, but when they ask me, other Chinese students, what our plans are, I will say we still need to go to “school.” Our summer school, not a formal school. It’s like a summer camp.
I know some students are working, some of them have sports practice. It is hard to image that we need to go to “school”, but we need to go to school to prepare for the SAT. We need to improve our English to be able to do well on the SAT, but the good thing is we don’t need to study Math.
I would like to share the schedule of our daily class: The class starts at 8 AM, students and teacher will go to the classroom a little bit early because of the morning test for vocabulary. After the test, we will begin our class on English grammar. During the whole time of the study, students won’t have much communication with the teacher, it is all about taking notes. At 10-12AM it is the time for study hall, the teacher will leave homework for students to finish during this time. It is the same thing for the afternoon, the teacher tells us what we should know and leaves the homework for practice. The school ends at 5 PM, and we have an optional study hall after school. Normal students will leave the classroom by 7 PM.
This schedule will last 11 hours a day, 6 days a week, 5 weeks in a year. I hope you have a great plan for summer, and whatever we do during Summer, I just want to remind you all to be safe and have fun.
