Bethany always holds the idea that we provide good benefits for our community and our environment. We built the windmill in 2015 and people see that as the symbol for Bethany Christian schools. In 2019 August, Bethany made a decision that put the solar panels on the roof. Today, in our Social Media group, we interviewed Brent who is the Bethany maintenance director.
We first asked, “Why did the school decide to put the solar panels on the roof ?” He said: “ Well, the obvious part is, we can make electricity through these panels and it will save our spending money. And for the long term, it will provide the source of our income.” As the Bethany maintenance director, Brent is happy that our school is more model and self-circular. Brent points out that the final cost is 675 grand.
We asked, “ how much electricity do the solar panels make?” Brent said: “We have 993 solar panels on the top of our roofs which will save 90% of the electricity used. And give us 80,000 dollars surplus in the spending money.” With all of the benefits that solar panels provide, Bethany will be a better place for our community and our environment.
