Jeffrey Epstein: Who is he?

The mystery around Jeffery Epstein has not only shocked the nation but has created a great deal of controversy.

To inform those unaware of who Epstein is, he was a well known figure that started his career as a teacher at the Dalton School who taught calculus and physics, later switching professions to a financier to a firm in Manhattan, Bear Stearns.

Throughout his lifetime, he heightened his economical power with companions like Former President Bill Clinton, CEO Billionaire Leslie Wexner, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, famous Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, and even current President Donald Trump. The list of friends and acquaintances for Epstein goes on.

Epstein held residences in six different places including Paris and Miami. Between 2002 and 2005, several pedophilic allegations were brought up against Epstein, most of the victims ranging from 14-17 years of age. The victims claimed that the former spouse of Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, would lure the young women to believe they would massage Epstein in exchange for money.

However, when he was convicted in 2007, federal prosecutors and defense lawyers bargained a deal that seemed too good for Epstein.

He received 13 months of jail time in Palm Beach county jail which consisted the permission of Epstein to leave the premises for up to 12 hours a day at his office nearby.

There is still speculation on how many victims there were, but there could be over 80 according to Julie K. Brown, a Miami Herald Journalist, who was able to conduct extensive research on them. However there may still be more unknown victims not mentioned, considering that there are still allegations around the private island in the US Virgin islands that belonged to Epstein.

He died at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York. The medical examiner confirmed his death a suicide, but the reasoning behind the “Epstein didn’t kill himself” phenomenom was the mysterious condition around the death of Epstein. The two guards were not around, there was no surveillance in the cell, and conspiracies added on to his death. Platforms on social media have commented on the idea that Bill Clinton was behind the death of Jeffrey Epstein. The reason behind this was because Clinton was on the same plane as Epstein 26 times therefore there could be probable cause of his awareness of Epstein’s sexual misconduct. Clinton, however, quickly denied all allegations against him and affirms he knew nothing of Epstein’s secret life.

Jeffrey Epstein will never face the justice that many of his victims wanted to see. We may never know the facts around his death, but we can say now that we will never have more problems provoked by him.
