Bethany’s fall production of The Women of Lockerbie is showing on the weekend of November 19. The show is about a couple from New Jersey who learn how to navigate their grief at the loss of their son who died in the Pan Am explosion over Scotland in 1988. The high school cast and crew have put in a great amount of time and effort to prepare for this show.
Norah Schlonager, who plays Olive, a Scottish local, says that the most difficult part of the show was “getting in touch with the darkness and hardship” that her character goes through. The content of the show is certainly heavy, which has made practices difficult at times. Jacob Leininger, who plays Bill Livingston, notes that his favorite part of the production was getting to know an “entertaining group of people that I wouldn’t have gotten to know otherwise.” The cast this year includes a large group of underclassmen which provided upperclassmen with a great leadership opportunity.
Make sure to come out this weekend to support your students! Tickets for the show can be purchased here. Seats are limited this year, so don’t wait until the last minute to get yours!
