‘Our Little Secret,’ starring Lindsay Lohan and Ian Harding, is a Rom-Com.
Two exes meet once again ten years later at a family Christmas party, now with current partners. Sounds awkward? Yes. Yes, it is. The two main characters, Avery and Logan, played by Lindsay Lohan and Ian Harding, grew up as friends until they started dating. Eventually, though, Avery moves to London for a job, and (can you guess it?) they break up.
10 years later, they both have new partners and are headed to a family Christmas party, where they find out that their partners are related. Hiding the fact that they used to date, Avery and Logan get put into awkward situations—from going to get a Christmas tree together, to attending a Christmas church service where a younger brother of Avery’s boyfriend finds out their secret, only ending in disaster.
This movie was incredibly predictable. The twists and turns of the plot consist only of lies—Avery not telling her boyfriend or his family that she and Logan dated, along with other family members hiding things from one another.
“That Christmas” is a 2024 film directed by Simon Otto—It is based on Richard Curtis’s book trilogy.
Irving Berlin may be dreaming of a white Christmas, but there’s a certain point when all that snow can get in the way. That’s what the small English town of Wellington-on-Sea is experiencing as its citizens endure a blizzard in the days leading up to Christmas. The blizzard dumps a whole bunch of snow onto the town, preventing Danny’s father from visiting him for Christmas. And with his mom working at her nursing job, Danny is left feeling lonelier than ever. The snow also strands the parents of an assortment of children all led by the rebellious teen Bernadette. The parents had left to celebrate a wedding, but now they’re stuck in a broken-down car on the side of the road. As Christmas comes around, the kids at home are wondering if Christmas just might be canceled without their parents
Sam, another character, is busy stressing about her family, too. Sam’s anxiety about Santa keeps her from doing anything naughty; but her twin sister, Charlie, is fine with causing chaos around town. Sam worries that Charlie’s behavior will leave her sister with no presents on Christmas morning.
Yes, it’s a town full of problems. And when Santa does come to town, he’ll have to do what he can to help fix them. I enjoyed this movie a lot. I loved the cute art style, the Christmas spirit, and the combination of real-world issues. I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone of all ages!
